Description

Venison

Our main supply for the Mini box is fallow. On occasion we might get muntjac, roe or sika in instead when fallow supply is short. These are all high quality and mild tasting meats suitable for beginners. You will NOT get RED substituted for fallow unless permission is given first. This is because Red is a looser grain high game taste meat so it’s not for beginners.

Fallow Venison Box. The large fillets and the rump are excellent steak cuts, while the neck and shoulder are fantastic for slower cooking. Most of our recipes are done with fallow; you can see our recipe highlights here.

Cuts Provided per Box

  • Fillet Steaks 200g~
  • Haunch Steaks 500g~
  • Rump Steaks* 200g~
  • Neck OR Mince 400g~
  • Dice Shoulder 250g~

*If available on the deer (not all will have this). In the event there is no rump available you will receive additional steaks from other cuts.

How it Works

Our 1.5kg Venison mini pack is essentially 1/8 of a deer when butchered. This way you get a bit of everything at the lowest possible discounted price and we get to make sure none of the deer we get goes to landfill. You are guaranteed to get a minimum of 1.5kg total weight in this pack.

This is a great pack for small households or a starter pack for those looking to try before they invest in a large order.

If you are looking for the best possible price instead, please check out our 7kg Mega pack which works out to £12.14/kg. If you don’t have the space for a 7kg order but still want more bang for your buck check out our 3kg fallow pack instead at £17/kg.

You can find out more about how this process works and how long you can expect to wait for your order here.

  1. Ellen

We are new to venison and don’t really eat meat but this company utilises culled deer that would otherwise go to landfill. The meat we have ordered has always been really good – there is information on how best to cook it and the company is finding innovative ways of making use of the whole carcass producing fantastic products. A big thank you to them

  2. Bobbie Frere

Not really bought venison before but really enjoying what we have had. The steaks and joint were so tender cooked fairly rare, the neck and knuckle slow cooked, meat removed and made into pasties. Low fat, very tasty, locally bought and rescued from landfill. Good to be able to eat meat without feeling guilty
